These organisations have supported various conservation activities through their respective grant programs.

The National Library Community Heritage Grants (CHG)

The CHG program aims to preserve and provide access to locally held nationally significant cultural heritage collections across Australia. Grants of up to $10,000 are provided for preservation projects, and preservation and collection management training through community based workshops.

Those eligible to apply include historical societies, small museums, public libraries and any community groups which collect and provide public access to cultural heritage collections.

A common project funded by the CHG program is a Preservation Needs Assessment. The AICCM Preventive Conservation Special Interest Group has developed a template for these surveys, for use by conservators and grant recipients. Arts Victoria Emergency Conservation Grants

Arts Victoria has an established protocol for immediate responses to disasters impacting collections of cultural heritage. Three peak bodies are signatories to this protocol: Museums Australia Inc (Vic), Public Galleries Association of Victoria and the Royal Historical Society of Victoria. Under the terms of this protocol, these bodies can spend up to $5,000 per affected organisation, on emergency conservation work to conserve damaged historical/cultural collections. Heritage Victoria

This grants program supports the State heritage strategy "Victoria’s Heritage: Strengthening our communities". For more information This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or see their website. Grants are available in four categories: Repair and conservation of heritage places and objects; Interpretation of heritage places and objects; Local government heritage studies and advice; Community collections management. All applications are assessed against published eligibility and selection criteria. Only places and objects with recognised heritage values are eligible for funding.

Public Record Office of Victoria (PROV) Local History Grants

Funded through the Community Support Fund, the Local History Grants Program provides grants of up to $12,000 to community organisations to support the cost of any project that preserves, records or publishes Victorian local history. Indigenous Heritage Program (IHP)

IHP is an Australian Government initiative that supports the identification, conservation, and promotion (where appropriate) of Indigenous heritage. Individual project funding for organisations will in general be available up to a maximum of $100,000 (GST exclusive). Individual applicants will generally be eligible for funding up to $5000. Applications for more than these amounts may be considered where the applicant demonstrates special circumstances or a genuine requirement for additional funds. The IHP may also help identify places likely to have outstanding Indigenous heritage value to Australia suitable for inclusion on the National Heritage List. The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

A number of Churchill Fellowships are awarded to Australian citizens every year. Financial support is provided for overseas travel to undertake an analysis, study or investigation of a project or an issue that cannot be readily undertaken in Australia. Fulbright Scholarship Program

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission promotes and supports educational and cultural exchange between Australia and America. International Specialised Skills Institute Inc (ISS Institute)
