Registrations for the 2019 AICCM Textile Special Interest Group Symposium are now open. We are pleased to invite you to Sydney from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th February 2019 for this year’s symposium themed Fibre to Fabric, Fur, Feather and Finishes.

The TSIG Symposium is the bi-annual opportunity for Australian and International textile conservators to get together, share knowledge and make new connections. The first two days will be held at the Sydney Jewish Museum where we will host various speakers presenting their conservation research, treatment developments, interesting case studies and mounting and display techniques. Our keynote speaker, Dinah Eastop, is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology, UCL. She will be presenting two papers, as well as hosting two thought workshops, designed to challenge an experienced conservator’s notion of the profession.

As a break out session from current textile research, Lisa Howel from Perfect Form Physiotherapy will run a workshop with exercises for improving posture, specially design for conservators. Our host, the Sydney Jewish Museum will also take attendees on a tour of their museum and archives.

On the final day of the symposium, are two optional tours curated by the committee.  Registration for the tours is now open.  For information on the tours and to register please go here:  https://aiccm.org.au/civicrm/event/info?id=44&reset=1
